
Shuaibu Adamu, a 19-year-old casual staffer, has been detained by the police in Gombe State for allegedly killing a government employee.
Buhari Abdullahi, a spokesman for the Gombe State Police Command, confirmed the arrest in a press statement on Saturday, citing a distress call from police on Friday reporting a alleged culpable homicide inside the Government House.
According to the report, a male adult, a borehole operator Mallam Umar, was discovered motionless inside the building. His pants were tied around his neck, according to a command spokesman, and a local intoxicant, known as rubber solution, was discovered in his mouth.
“He was taken to the Specialist Hospital in Gombe, where a doctor declared him dead. He claimed that his body had been taken for autopsy at the mortuary.

Abdullahi claimed that Umar Chuso, the police commissioner, had visited the scene and had ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
He claimed that surveillance footage showed that Mr. Adamu, also known as “Yaya Mama,” had brutally harmed the victim before fleeing the scene.
According to Abdullahi, a follow-up operation on Friday at around 11 p.m. led to his arrest at Bagadaza Quarters in Gombe.
He added that the suspect would remain in custody pending the completion of the investigation and prosecution and gave a confession during preliminary interrogation.
