Their ex and the child’s father claimed she was invited after he revealed their son’s cause of death, but a former 16 and pregnant star claims they were prevented from attending their son’s funeral.
A star of reality TV show 16 and Pregnant has missed the funeral of her son, according to reports. It’s said Whitney Purvis, who was a former star of the MTV show, turned up late to the ceremony and was turned away.
Weston Jr died aged 16, with Whitney revealing the tragic news earlier this month. No cause of death was revealed at the time. Now, his father as confirmed it has been listed as due to natural causes on his death certificate.
During the burial service for her 16-year-old child, Whitney was distraught after being escorted from the Georgia funeral home last Saturday. Weston Gosa Sr, Weston Gosa Sr, allegedly informed her that their son’s funeral service would begin at 4 p.m.
She claims that when she arrived, she was informed that the service had already begun at 2 p.m. and that she wasn’t among the attendees.
Whitney’s ex and Weston’s father, Weston Sr, however, told TMZ he informed everyone, including Whitney, the viewing was scheduled from 2pm to 4pm, with the service set to begin right at 4. He went on to tell the publication he had called Whitney personally a week in advance to invite her.
He claims to have made it clear that the event would be closely monitored and had a strict guest list. Weston Sr claims that Whitney allegedly arrived at 4.15pm and that the service had already begun with the chapel doors locked.
Weston Jr. then asserts that Whitney was informed that the funeral director was late for her. According to reports, the news allegedly caused Whitney to react and later allegedly called her ex-boyfriend “vil” for excluding her. According to him, she was sent a photo to show that she had been added to the guest list earlier that day.
Although Whitney was unable to attend, her parents, aunt, and uncle are said to have been there as well. It is said that the other family members arrived at around 3 o’clock.
Gosa continued, claiming that in a show of compassion, he and his wife Amy decided to purchase Whitney a separate urn with some of Weston Jr.’s ashes.
Whitney took to social media to express her regret over their son’s passing earlier this month. She wrote at the time, “This is so difficult to write, along with photos of herself and Weston. Weston, my gorgeous son, passed away. He was only sixteen years old.
Life is so unfair and cruel. Simply put, I don’t comprehend. Oh no, my baby is gone, and I’m not sure what to do.
He was so flawless, she continued. My worst nightmare ever came true, in fact. How do you continue living after having a child? This cannot possibly occur because I’m in shock. It should not be authentic, in my opinion.
“Just to hold him, I would do anything.” Words simply can’t adequately express the suffering I’m experiencing. Weston Owen Gosa, you and I are so special. I adore you dearly, God.
You are the heart of my life. You were a wonderful young man, I was so proud of you. Without you, I can’t continue. My angel, rest in peace. You leave too soon, friends. April 2, 2009 – June 2, 2025. “
