Zoe Ball makes unexpected return to TV just days after BBC Radio 2 return

After completing a beloved BBC series, Zooe Ball will make a significant comeback on television.

After six years, the well-known presenter announced that she wanted to concentrate on her family and that her mother, Julia, passed away from cancer. In 2019, Zoe took over as host of the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show in a title that only she had previously held.

Her appointment marked a significant shift for the station. Zoe has also been a regular fixture on BBC television, co-hosting Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two from 2011 to 2021, where she became a fan favorite with her in-depth interviews and behind-the-scenes insights into the hit dance competition.

Just a few months after leaving Radio 2, it’s been revealed that Zoe will be appearing in the upcoming season of Who Do You Think You Are? Celebrities are followed in the popular BBC series as they learn about ancestry, discovering family secrets, and making historical connections. An insider told The Sun: “Zoe comes from a famous family, but not much is known beyond that. She was thrilled to be invited, and she is eager to learn more about her roots.

Zoe’s return to TV comes just days after reports surfaced of her embracing a more low-key lifestyle, even helping out at her local café in Sussex. The former BBC star, who was once the corporation’s second-highest-paid presenter, has been spotted working at The Big Beach Café in Hove, owned by her ex-husband, DJ and record producer Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim.

Their son, Woody Cook, previously shared insights into his parents ‘ shift to a quieter life. Speaking to MailOnline, he said: “In the last five years, it’s been funny watching my parents take up gardening. These crazy party people I grew up with are now gardening, making puzzles, and working in the local café”.

From 1999 until their split in 2020, Zoe and Norman were close friends and frequently seen together in their hometown. Who Do You Think You Are Together With? Fans will soon be able to see a different side of Zoe as she embarks on a profoundly personal journey into her family history, marking her eagerly awaited return to television.
