Zendaya and Tom Holland engaged after Spider-Man star’s romantic Christmas proposal

Hollywood stars Zendaya and Tom Holland, both 28, are engaged, according to sources close to the couple.

Tom, the son of Spider-Man, is said to have asked the question during the Christmas holiday. According to an insider, Tom decided to leave their glamorous lifestyle for a more intimate proposal, popping the question privately at one of Zendaya’s family homes. The source told TMZ that Zendaya’s family members weren’t present for the proposal, with Tom keeping the moment between himself and his wife-to-be.

On Sunday, Zendaya flashed a massive rock on her ring finger while posing on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, appearing to confirm the news herself. The Challengers star stunned again, sporting flawless makeup and waved hair that evoked classic Hollywood glamour. Zendaya wore an eye-catching burnt orange gown with matching shoes, and a sparkling necklace. All attention, however, was on her left hand, where large pear-shaped diamond rested on a simple gold band.

Fans were quick to pick up on Zendaya’s new accessory, with many taking to X, formerly known at Twitter, to debate whether or not it was time to congratulate her and Tom. “WAIT A MINUTE”, one fan exclaimed after spotting the ring. “Doesn’t match her other pieces”, another observed. “THEY GETTIN MARRIED”! a third chimed in.

Tom has taken a year off of acting after making no secret that he wants to prioritize family life. Prior to the release of the superhero sequel in the same year, he mentioned the idea in an interview from back in 2021 while promoting the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. He told People: “I’ve spent the last six years being so focused on my career. I want to take a break and concentrate on raising a family and figuring out what I want to do in the world. Tom added that he “can’t wait to be a dad”.

After meeting on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, Zendaya and Tom have officially been dating since 2021. Fans speculated that romance might be in the air when they first started working, with many praising their chemistry in both their interviews and the popular film. The couple began to publicly declare their love for one another online, posting a slew of sweet photos, behind-the-scenes snaps, and adorable tributes to each other on social media, despite initially keeping their relationship private. In 2022, it was said that the duo were “serious and permanent” with one another. They were “absolutely planning for a real future together,” according to an insider who spoke to US Weekly at the time.

Zendaya expressed her delight in working with Tom in the summer of last year and mentioned their Hollywood encounter. “It’s like second nature, if anything. You feel more secure acting alongside the other person. I enjoy working with him. He’s so talented, and so passionate about what he does. He always gives things one thousand percent, even if he’s absolutely worn down. I really appreciate that about him”, Zendaya shared. “It feels pretty normal. That’s how we met. Literally, at a chemistry read”.
