Trump already indicated last week that he was prepared to impose “major sanctions” on Russia, which has so far resisted his attempts to end the conflict, but only if all NATO allies agree to completely stop buying oil from Moscow.
Even though Vladimir Putin has expressed his opposition to the presence of Western troops in Ukraine, Zelenskyy is expected to discuss security arrangements with Ukraine to stop further Russian attacks following a potential truce.
