Hansi Flick, the coach for Barcelona, questioned whether Lamine Yamal’s groin injury would be easy to treat and whether or not it would be possible for him to return.

Flick suggested the 18-year-old winger’s absence could possibly be longer than the Spanish champions had predicted in a statement released on Friday that Yamal would be out for two to three weeks.

Yamal will miss Spain’s World Cup qualifiers and will make an effort to make it happen before Barcelona face Real Madrid in a Clasico on October 26.

We have this experience with (those), the coaches, and the therapists because this injury is not so simple, like a muscle injury.

It’s difficult to say, “OK, he can play in two weeks, in three weeks, or four weeks, so he can play in the Clasico,” given the nature of the injury.

“We have to manage his (work) load. We have to wait. We have to go step by step and observe how his evolution is as he trains with our recovery team, according to Coach Flick.

Yamal missed four games with Spain in September because of a groin injury before making a recovery.

The teenager, who was recently named the second-best player in the world at the Ballon d’Or gala, injured himself and played against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, and he has since resurrected.

Flick claimed to have spoken with Yamal on Saturday, and that the winger had received positive news.

Prior to Sunday’s La Liga game against Sevilla, the coach said, “I spoke with him today, and it’s much better than it was before, but it’s not good.”

After Yamal’s game against Bulgaria and Turkey received painkilling injections, Flick criticised Spain coach Luis de la Fuente.

De la Fuente, who also served as a coach for the national team, said on Friday that he anticipated Flick to exhibit more “empathy,” but the German kept his words.

Flick continued, “I don’t regret this; I want to protect my players.”
