Wrexham are close to making a major signing for Manchester City defender Callum Doyle, who is interested in another well-known signing.
According to reports, Wrexham and Wrexham have agreed a fee for the England Under-21 international that could rise to £8 million.
Doyle, a 21-year-old man from Manchester, was a product of the City academy, but he has spent his last four seasons on loan. He has never played for the first team.
Doyle’s senior career commenced with a year-long loan spell at Sunderland, who were then League One, in 2021-2022.
He spent his final seasons in the Championship on loan, joining Norwich City last season, Coventry City in 2022-23, Leicester City in 2023-24, and Coventry City in 2022-23.
Wrexham, which Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney own, have already made a lot of money since winning a third straight promotion last year, making their 43rd year a new chapter.
Last week, the north-western club broke their transfer record by completing the deal that could eventually cost the club £10 million.
Wrexham paid Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien from Nottingham Forest last month for a price tag of more than £3 million, according to reports.
