Following Mimi Xu’s “incredible success” of the tournament this year, which was won by Wales, the Wrexham Open will make its return a year later.

The biggest women’s tennis tournament to be held in the UK this year outside of the grass court season, the ITF World Tennis Tour, took place for the first time in north Wales in October.

Between October 18 and October 25, the 2026 Wrexham Open will take place at the Padel Centre at Wrexham Tennis &amp.

Xu won the 2025 Lexus Wrexham Open last month, defeating Mika Stojsavljevic, earning her biggest victory thus far.

Ella McDonald and the 18-year-old Swansea teenager also won the doubles title.

“During a busy and enjoyable week, the local community showed incredible enthusiasm for the tournament and the other events we held alongside it,” said tournament promoter Dave Courteen, who quickly established it in the city.
