Under the guidance of Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham have approached Christian Eriksen in their most ambitious move to date.
The 33-year-old midfielder has no longer played for a club after his contract with Manchester United expired at the end of the 2024-2019 campaign.
And Wrexham are eager to add the Denmark international’s experience as they prepare to make their first appearance in English football in 44 years.
Wrexham are now gearing up for their first second-tier season since 1981-82, following three successive promotions under Phil Parkinson.
Since advancing to the Championship, they have already promoted Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward, striker Ryan Hardie, left-back Liberato Cacace, and attacking midfielder Josh Windass.
If Parkinson can persuade him to leave the Championship, Eriksen would prove to be the biggest addition to date.
Eriksen is a free agent after making 35 appearances for the Red Devils last season, totaling five goals.
He began his professional career with Ajax and spent seven seasons with Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Brentford in 2022 after spending one season with Inter Milan.
During his time at Old Trafford, he won both an FA and League Cup.
