World Matchplay Darts schedule, draw and prize money

The 2025 World Matchplay Darts begin on July 19 and continue until July 27 on Sunday.

32 players will compete in the Professional Darts Corporation’s major tournament, which takes place at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.

The 16th-place spots were automatically awarded to the 16th-ranked players in ProTour’s Order of Merit, with the top 16 remaining places going to the top 16 players.

Some big names have already withdrawn from the list, including Michael Smith, the former world number one and 2023 champion, who just passed away due to the Order of Merit.

The top 16 players in the world have been given seed status, meaning they will face ProTour qualifiers in their first round.

If both of the seeded players win their first-round matches, the number one seed would face the number 16 seed, and so forth.

Matches are best of 19 legs in the first round, which then increases to a best of 21 in the second round.

The 2025 World Matchplay winner will receive £200, 000 in prize money from the tournament’s $800,000 prize pool.

The runner-up will win £100, 000, with two losing semi-finalists securing £50, 000 each.

Players who are eliminated in the second round will receive £30, 000 each, while those who are eliminated in the third round will receive £15, 000 each.
