Head coach Sean Lynn insists Wales are much better off than they were following the Six Nations despite a World Cup campaign without victories.
Prior to being pushed to the bottom of Pool B by defeats by Scotland, Canada, and Fiji, Wales lost all five of their matches earlier this year.
In this game, character was shown, unlike in the Six Nations, Lynn said.
“We’ve shown that we’re brave, capable of moving the ball, and have a driving maul,” he said.
Lynn also repeated what he had previously said when he was named Ioan Cunningham’s replacement earlier this year.
Bringing things together
Everyone wants to make sure we’re getting results, but I’m in it and have already told the players that we’re all going to stand together.
There are challenging times, but with the character and the people, there has been much improvement.
However, we still have a long way to go before our goals are met.
The players will now have a week off before returning to camp to prepare for their World Cup evaluation and then their clubs, primarily Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) games, which will debut the new league season.
Lynn, the former Gloucester-Hartpury manager, claims that any success for Wales will depend on how well his players are run in the top tier of England.
He claimed that “they need to be playing.”

With the likes of Maisie Davies, Alaw Pyrs, and Seren Lockwood, Lynn’s agenda also includes the Celtic Challenge, which features two teams from Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.
According to Lynn, “The program needs to make sure that we are mirroring what it’s going to be in test match rugby.”
We will be looking at a central point of contact, according to Gwalia Lightning and Brython Thunder, and I have looked at the program.
“Players will be in, and I’ll be looking into running some of that as well.”
While Lynn and the players head home to heal their wounds, Lynn maintains a positive outlook despite the moment’s roar.
There is hope, but it’s proving that we are managing these players and getting them ready for the Six Nations, he said.
