Will the Pakistan-Afghanistan peace agreement hold?

Following a week of border-cross-border violence, the neighbors have come to terms with an immediate ceasefire.

After discussions in Doha, the capital of Qatar, Pakistan and Afghanistan have come to an agreement to end fighting.

The most serious escalation since 2021, when the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan, occurred in the past week or so.

Islamabad accuses Kabul of house Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan fighters, an armed group that has increased attacks there. Taliban leaders in Afghanistan refute the accusations.

According to media reports, long-term peace has been established. What are the guarantees, though? And how does regional conflict manifest itself?
