In his first address to the nation, new leader of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, made the promise to bring the country together.
He has promised that a temporary legislative council will adopt laws for the time being and that it will include all of Syria’s various factions and groups.
He is being pressured to keep his promises by the international community.
But can al-Sharaa bring his country together?
Will his administration be able to make the Syrian people’s lives better after more than ten years of hostilities?
