In recent years, the actor has a number of prominent roles, which has rekindled his interest in his personal life.

From Nosferatu’s towering Count Orlok to the spooky Roman Godfrey in Hemlock Grove, Bill Skarsgrd has portrayed a number of nightmarish characters on-screen.

Pennywise the Dancing Clown, one of his most well-known villains, is one of them, as the star returns Tim Curry’s iconic role from Rocky Horror’s Rocky Horror series IT Chapter One and its follow-up, IT Chapter Two, in 2017.

He is now reprising that role once more for the IT-inspired TV series, Welcome to Derry. The eight-part series will explore the origins of the sewer-dwelling creature in more depth, drawing from the interlude pages in Stephen King’s 1986 novel.

Fans may be curious about star Bill’s life outside the box office now that the series is available for viewing in the UK tomorrow (October 27).

The 35-year-old actor is single, but he has a long-term relationship with Swedish actress Alida Morberg, 40, who they have two children with. One of them is a daughter born in 2019 and the other is a 2023 child.

The pair once appeared in the same show in 2022 miniseries Clark years into their romance. The duo have been romantically linked since 2016 after the were spotted together at the premiere of The Divergent Series: Allegiant, and the following month, Alida shared a photo of the actor on her Instagram account.

They prefer to keep details about their children’s lives hidden from the public eye, so it remains exactly how they first met.

Given the star’s aversion to social media, it’s unclear whether Bill and Alida were dating before they met.

When will Welcome to Derry feature Bill Skarsgrd?

The episode the actor plays Pennywise in is currently a closely-kept secret, but Andy and Barbara Muschietti, the show’s executive producers, made a tease about it coming later in the series.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Barbara claimed, “I’ve said this before, but he is our shark.” You must unleash all of his complexity at the appropriate points, otherwise it loses its strength.

Because of that dose-ification, I am firmly persuaded that he is still as terrifying as he is.
