For Harry Potter star Warwick Davis and his wife Samantha, starting a family didn’t come easy.
Warwick and his 16-year-old future wife played an extra in the 1988 film Willow, with his 17-year-old father playing an extra in the scene. The two had first met when they were teenagers.
The soulmates quickly fell in love, and in 1991, they unionized. Before her tragic passing in March, Warwick and Samantha had children Harrison and Annabelle together.
After having spine surgery in 2018, the 53-year-old developed the sepsis she contracted in 2018. She had complications from her health. The family was gathered by her bedside to say goodbyes, and she was close to passing away at the time.
An inquest into Samantha’s death was today, adjourned before any evidence was presented, as Warwick was unable to connect remotely to the court. The star is suing a London hospital for medical care in connection with his wife’s passing, according to the Daily Mail.

As a result, Samantha and Warwick developed PTSD, and Warwick described his or her “longest life ever” as a result of his patient waiting for news of his wife’s surgery. He told the Sun, “I cried every night because I thought this terrible illness that struck out of nowhere might take my soul mate away.”
At this point, the traumatized couple had already experienced a significant amount of tragedy. At nine days old, Lloyd, the couple’s first child, passed away. “Prior to Annabelle and Harrison we had a baby boy, Lloyd, who inherited both our conditions… and that is something that proves fatal”, the Extras star told Bear Grylls in 2019. “It’s something that a baby won’t survive. But Lloyd survived for nine days, but yeah he was beautiful. It was a tough time. And yeah, we had a stillborn too”.
Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita (SED), a rare genetic disorder that causes skeletal abnormalities and vision and hearing issues, is the cause of Warwick’s dwarfism. His parents were told that he wouldn’t walk and wouldn’t live past his teenage years. Samantha had achondroplasia, which is the most common type of dwarfism, a genetic bone-growth disorder that leads to short limbs.
Before giving birth to their daughter Annabelle in 1997, the couple lost their son George when Samantha was 19 weeks along with their son. She has appeared in roles in Hollyoaks and The Dumping Ground, and she is now 27 years old.
Warwick said his wife’s passing left a “heap in our lives as a family” and that Samantha was his “most trusted confidant and fervent supporter of everything I did in my career.”
The bereft widower referred to her as a unique character who always saw the positive side of life and laughed at my bad jokes. “Without Sammy, there would have been no Tenable quiz show, no Willow series. 3. The No Idiot Abroad series She was passionate about helping people, without judgment. She was present for everyone and was genuinely listening.
“Mum is our best friend and we’re honoured to have received a love like hers”, added Samantha’s children. “With her by my side, I was sure I could achieve anything, it was like having a super-power”.
