Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams’ relationship began when she revealed that she initially turned him down for a date.

Vogue Williams has disclosed that she initially “politely declined” Spencer Matthews’ request for a date before a concerning prediction later materialised. The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star was gearing up to take part in Channel 4’s The Jump when she encountered Spencer in 2017.

Not long after the Irish presenter’s breakup with Westlife’s Brian McFadden, this occurred. Vogue stated in her book Big Mouth that she had to decline the former Made in Chelsea actress’ invitation to go on a date following their first encounter.

Vogue recalled: “As soon as we left our first ski session, Spencer was DMing me on Twitter suggesting we go for drinks, which I wasn’t up for, but he settled for getting my number.”

Despite his determination, Vogue initially stuck to her guns, reports the Irish Mirror.

Spencer didn’t make quick decisions. He called Vogue shortly afterward to request that they go on an evening out with him and his friends. Vogue once more rejected her, unsure whether combining romance with a demanding filming schedule.

She continued, “Not long after, he called and asked me to go out with him and his friends, but I politely declined.

She continued, describing the pivotal moment that gave rise to their friendship and later romance. “We didn’t until we flew to Austria where we saw each other once more. We kept getting married despite the fact that neither of us had any intentions at the time. I tried to deny the relationship when my sister came over to see me while we were filming, but she and her partner used mine while I was staying in his room, so she was aware of what was happening.

The podcaster had to withdraw from the competition just as the cameras started to roll because of a knee problem that she had sustained during ski cross training. She was prevented from competing by the injury, which required surgery, and Amy Willerton assumed her place as her replacement.

Vogue acknowledged that she already felt a sense of foreboding about what might go wrong following the serious injury.

She explained that I didn’t clip my ski boot in properly before the competition started and that I had my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) snapped. Despite how much I enjoyed that show, I had to compete in every event during training, so it was well worth it.

I had a fear that something might happen to me because I had escaped that day in my life with little harm, and it felt like my turn.

A romance that blossomed since their initial interactions on The Jump began. The reality star proposed in January 2018 and the pair wed in June of that year. Vogue, 40, accepted.
