As her and David’s feud with their son Brooklyn and his wife drags on, Victoria Beckham has asserted that she is a “girl’s girl” and that it is uncommon for her to not get along with other women.
Victoria Beckham has reminded fans that her girl power attitude is alive and well, saying she has always been a “girl’s girl” who gets on with almost everyone unless they give her a real reason not to.
The fashion designer and former Spice Girl, 51, appeared on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show this week, where she opened up about her relationships with other women, particularly during her WAG (wives and girlfriends of footballers) era while husband David Beckham played for England.
When questioned about how well-liked the other footballers were at the time, Victoria responded, “Yes. I’m a girl’s girl. You must be a real a**e for me to refuse to get along with you if you’re a woman, after all.
She continued to state that the focus of her fashion and beauty work is on empowering women. She continued, “Because I love, I love women, you know, and that’s one of the reasons I do what I do with fashion and beauty.” I want to give women more power. Yes. And I want to tell women about my advice.
Her comments come amid ongoing rumours of a family rift involving her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz.
Reports suggest that Brooklyn and Nicola have been notably absent from a number of significant family gatherings, including David’s 50th birthday celebrations and Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show, where tensions have been simmering for months.
Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola also skipped the premiere of Beckham, Victoria’s hit Netflix documentary, and have remained silent on social media about the project.
However, Victoria and David appeared to extend an olive branch recently when they both liked one of Brooklyn’s Instagram videos, where he showed off his cooking skills by making buttermilk pancakes.
Despite the public show of support, Brooklyn’s absence at family milestones has reportedly been difficult for his parents. A source recently told HELLO! : “From the minute Nicola came into the family, she hasn’t shown what Victoria would say is respect towards them.”
Another insider, however, stated that David has already reached out to him and will travel to Brooklyn if necessary. This will be extinguished by them. When the emotions are settled, David has vowed to allow everyone to talk.
The source continued, “Brooklyn hurt them.” David won’t allow this to continue for very long, despite how it hurts them that he has aired their dirty laundry. He wants to bring everyone together, but nothing will change unless they work together.
