Following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, Ruud van Nistelrooy claims he is still awaiting confirmation whether he will remain in charge of Leicester City.

The Foxes have only eight points from 20 games played under the Dutchman, whose 1-0 defeat by Liverpool at the King Power Stadium last weekend confirmed that they would be returning to the Championship.

Van Nistelrooy, 48, stated that he had discussed “how we move forward as a club” with the owners and the board during a meeting.

He continued, “I am waiting for alignment,” adding that I know what my plan is to bring the club back.

The better for the football team the quicker.

At 15:00 BST, Leicester travel to Molineux to face Wolves.

Following Steve Cooper’s dismissal after only 157 days in charge, Van Nistelrooy agreed to a three-year deal with Leicester in November.

However, the appointment of the former Manchester United striker failed to inspire confidence in the organization, leading to their second-ever relegation in three years.

The Foxes’ ninth consecutive Premier League home game without a goal was lost to leaders Liverpool, which is their 16th in the previous 18 games, setting a new top-flight record.
