Fuzzy Zoeller, 74, a two-time major winner, passed away.

The American, who was born Frank Urban Zoeller Jr., won the 1979 Masters in a play-off to become the first and last player to win the tournament on his debut.

In 1984, he also won a play-off against Greg Norman to win the US Open at Winged Foot.

You pat him on the back, say congratulations, and enjoy it, and tell him not to serve fried chicken the following year, Zoeller said.

” Got it? Or collard greens, whichever dish they serve.

Later, Zoeller apologized and claimed that his words had been misinterpreted.

I’ve sobbed a lot, I tell you. He wrote for Golf Digest in 1998, and I’ve apologised for words used in jest that don’t actually reflect who I am.

I can assure you that I have hundreds of friends, including people of color, who are equally impressed. I’ve still come to terms with the fact that this incident will never, ever end.

Zoeller won the PGA Tour ten times, too.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan remarked, “Fuzzy was a true original whose talent and charisma left an indelible mark on the game of golf.
