Despite being “flattered” by the offer, a well-known TV presenter is said to have declined the chance to appear on the celebrity version of the Traitors.

A star-studded adaptation of the show, which premiered in 2022, was given a confirmation last year from the BBC. The potential lineup for the celebrity spin-off has since been fraught with rumors before its release.

It’s now been reported that Lorraine Kelly, 65, met with producers over the prospect of signing up and that bosses were “keen” for her to involved. She’s however said to have not been able to “make it work” due to scheduling conflicts.

She loves the show and was thrilled to be asked, according to a source who spoke with them, which went very well. Producers had hoped that Lorraine would sign on the dotted line, but she ultimately had to leave because she couldn’t fit her busy schedule at the moment.

However, the source added that bosses would still be interested in the presenter, who hosts ITV’s Lorraine, if they wanted to watch him compete in a potential second series. The source claimed to the outlet that “the powers that be were gutted but they love Lorraine and the door is definitely open” if the star-studded spin-off were to have a second series.

The news comes following reports that This Country stars Daisy May-Cooper, 38, and Charlie Cooper, 35, dropped out just weeks before filming. A source told the Mirror that the siblings, who both have young children, said they couldn’t be away from their families for the show, filmed in Scotland.

Stephen Fry, Tom Daley, and Clare Balding are rumored to be celebrities who have reportedly signed up for the show. The BBC has not yet made any announcements regarding the lineup, which will likely be made more soon after the show’s final broadcast. When asked about the most recent speculation, a Traitors spokesperson stated this morning that any skeptic who believes in the game would be foolish to speculate before the action has even begun.

Earlier this year, host Claudia Winkleman, 53, teased over the celebrity version of the Traitors in an interview with the Radio Times. When questioned about whether any of her friends or coworkers could participate in the show, she said it would be “hard” if a close friend would take the stage. Claudia said: “I haven’t vetoed anyone, but I think it would be hard if a great friend did it”.
