Donald Trump, the president of the United States, said he “would love” to serve a third term in office, but he has decided against running for vice president in the 2028 election.

Trump, who presided over the country from 2017 to 2021, officially resigned from office in January.
The 79-year-old has frequently feigned serving beyond the constitutionally mandated two terms, making fun of it at rallies and making fun of Trump’s supporters wearing “Trump 2028” hats.
Some allies have taken those warnings seriously, suggesting that they are considering whether to pursue legal or political options.
Some claim that Trump could run for vice president in opposition to the ban, while another candidate resigned and ran for president, allowing him to reclaim the presidency.
Trump said to reporters on Air Force One on Monday that he “would be allowed to do that” when asked if he would run for vice president in November 2028.
He continued, however, that he would not proceed in that direction.

However, according to scholars, Trump is not eligible to run for president if he is not also eligible to run for vice president. No person who is not constitutionally ineligible to hold the office of president shall be eligible to hold the office of vice-president of the United States, according to the US Constitution’s 12th Amendment.
Trump said, “I would love to do it,” referring to the possibility of a third term in office on Monday. My best numbers ever come from me.

Trump made the remarks while taking a flight from Malaysia to Japan on the Air Force One.
