Trump and Wilson win at Northern Ireland Open

At the Northern Ireland Open on Tuesday, Judd Trump and Kyren Wilson won.

At the Waterfront Hall, Trump defeated Wales’ Jackson Page 4-2 to advance to the third round.

For a place in the quarter-finals, Gary Wilson and Martin O’Donnell, who meet on Wednesday, will face off against the four-time NI Open champion.

Tom Ford advanced by beating Chris Wakelin 4-1, and Yuan Sijun by beating Long Zehuang by a score of 4-1.

Aaron Hill’s superb break of 92 secured the victory in the decisive frame against Barry Hawkins’ comeback.

Wilson, who defeated Trump in the previous year’s final, won a final frame decider with Oliver Lines earlier on Tuesday to secure his spot in the second round.

Wilson was 3-2 up against Lines in the third frame despite breaking 133 in the frame. The 2024 world champion advanced through the final two frames.

Stephen Maguire defeated Luca Brecel, the 2023 world champion, in the other first-round matches that gave rise to Ryan Day, Mark Davis, Si Jiahui, and Ali Carter.

On Wednesday, home favorites Mark Allen and Jordan Brown will face off in the second-round.
