In Zamfara State’s Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, 1 Brigade of the Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma has been a collaboration between operatives from the Department of State Services and personnel from the Department of State Services.
The operation, conducted on 27 January, was based on intelligence regarding suspected arms dealers operating from the Niger Republic.
Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the coordinator of Operation Fansan Yamma, made a statement on Tuesday that made this known.
He claimed a covert operation by the troops to track the suspects led to a pursuit along the Kaura Namoda-Zurmi Road.

The suspects attempted to flee by driving their car into the bush, but the troops forced them to do so after the incident.
“A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the recovery of the following items: 2x PKT machine guns, 9 x AK-47 rifles, 13x magazines, 171 x rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and 9x rounds of PKT ammunition”, the statement read. “
The search for the bandits kingpin, who has since been identified as wanted by the military, is also being continued, according to Troops.
The troops are actively pursuing wanted terrorist Bello Turji, who is still at large and avoids being captured by moving from hideout to hideout.
