The Grammy-winning singer and NFL superstar announced their engagement to the world on Tuesday night after two years of dating and months of rumors. When exactly will the couple tie the knot?
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce effectively broke the internet on Tuesday when the loved up pair announced their engagement to the world in a heartfelt Instagram post.
In the post, which went live at around 6pm, the couple shared a sweet photo of the moment Travis proposed, while also showing off the songstress’ impressive diamond sparkler alongside the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Yet while it may have taken the couple two years to get to this point, marriage appears to have been on Travis’ mind for quite some time, with the Kansas City Chiefs star having dropped hints about their upcoming nuptials for months before the big proposal.

In fact, eagle eyed fans think they may even have rumbled when exactly a wedding is likely to take place, thanks to some of the hints Travis dropped during conversations with his brother, Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast.
Back in January 2025, Travis broached the subject of NFL players getting engaged, as well as many players being too busy to commit to wedding preparations between July and February every year, due to a jam packed football season.
In spring or summer of 2026, Travis and Taylor could have a wedding planned if they follow the same logic.
In a January episode of “New Heights,” he explained to brother Jason, “I actually don’t know people who’ve married in the fall because all the weddings I’ve attended and all my friends always do it in the summer.”
“You gotta be willing to find a weekend where the team isn’t playing any good players,” the coach said.
Also, if you really don’t like that, it might be in her best interest to stop it in the fall so that she knows you’re committed to the anniversary every time it occurs.
“I’ve seen weddings in February,” he said. Except for the fall, weddings are common. I’m not sure if the fall was a good time for weddings.
Fans began to speculate about a potential engagement last year when Taylor wrapped up her two-year tour to acclaim on December 8 and made an appearance at a Chief’s game shortly afterward.
Some fans claimed that a ring had been taken from a photo taken at a Kelce-hosted celebration celebrating her passing, but neither Taylor nor Travis ever confirmed this.
The next rumor will be when the happy couple will officially tie the knot, though an official engagement is already in the works.
It seems unlikely that the couple will have time to organize a wedding before the NFL’s biggest sporting event, which is scheduled for February 8 and Taylor has already been touted as the star halftime performer.
