Mauricio Pochettino, the head coach of the United States, has declared himself unfit to replace Ange Postecoglou, calling it “not feasible” to return to Tottenham at this time.

Despite winning the Europa League and earning their first piece of silverware in 17 years, Postecoglou, 59, was fired on Friday.

Pochettino has been linked with a return to Tottenham after his five-year club-year suspension ended in November 2019.

The Argentine, who was appointed US manager in October 2024, claims he is content with his new position.

My name has always been on the list of rumors, according to the rumors that I believe I left in 2019.

“I’ve heard the rumors, and we’re 100 coaches on the list,” he said. Don’t worry about that.

I’m so happy in this moment, and we can’t talk about this type of thing, but you’ll see if something happens [in the future].

After being defeated by Turkey in Connecticut by the United States, Pochettino made an announcement.

With five victories and four losses in charge, Pochettino now has three straight defeats.

Along with Mexico and Canada, the United States will host the World Cup in 2026.

Pochettino helped Spurs reach the Champions League final in 2019 and a second-place finish in the Premier League in 2017 while also serving as a mentor there.

There is interest in Fulham coach Marco Silva, and Brentford manager Thomas Frank is a leading contender to replace Postecoglou.

Ben Davies, a Wales defender, has continued to work until the summer of 2026 on his contract.
