Hollywood legend Tom Cruise has averred that the impossible has been realized by securing tickets for him and his pals’ sold-out Oasis concert in London this weekend.
Tom Cruise has successfully completed another ‘Mission Impossible’ – after managing to buy tickets to see Oasis this weekend for himself and a large group of friends.
The actor will be one of many A-list celebrities expected to watch the band fronted by Liam and Noel Gallagher at London’s Wembley Stadium on the latest leg of their sold out tour.
Millions of fans tried unsuccessfully to purchase tickets, while others had a four-ticket per person cap. However, Tom, a famous actor from Hollywood, managed to secure 20 tickets for himself and his pals.
A source close to the band said: “Tom Cruise is used to seeing some spectacular things in Hollywood and on film sets, but he has heard the new Oasis show is out of this world and was very keen to see it for himself. There are no stunts involved, but the atmosphere will be electric.
Tom and his friends were delighted that he was able to give them tickets to the concert. Even the richest and most powerful people struggle to secure them.
He is traveling with up to 20 people, and he must be one of the few to be able to join such a sizable crowd.
A fantastic movie script would also be a good one to include the reunion of Liam and Noel after almost two decades. Tom might be able to talk to the boys about an Oasis movie if given the chance. Following the success of this tour, it would undoubtedly be a box office hit.
Perhaps best known for his Mission Impossible movies is Cruise, 63. In eight Mission: Impossible movies, he portrayed the fictional agent Ethan Hunt.
For the first time since July 12, 2009, Oasis are playing at Wembley Stadium on their Dig Out Your Soul tour. There will be five nights of them there.
During Oasis’ comeback shows so far, it has been difficult to compete for an important spot at the barriers. Fans formed a line several hours before the band was due on stage yesterday at Wembley, which was no exception.
Five homecoming shows took place in Manchester’s Heaton Park before the sell-out tour kicked off with two nights in Cardiff. The band’s two-hour shows have received five star reviews from the audience, and they’ve been dubbed the decade’s rock ‘n’ roll reunion.
Celebrities at other gigs so far have included actors Sienna Miller and Matt Smith in the crowds in Cardiff, as well as Manchester City stars Pep Guardiola, Phil Foden and Rodri in Manchester. And many more famous faces are expected to be at the gigs in London this weekend.
