Tinubu Mourns Tanker Explosion Victims, Condoles With Niger State Govt

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the fuel tanker explosion, which caused the death of over 80 people, with many also injured.

An enormous number of people were killed by the devastating explosion that occurred on Saturday at Dikko Junction in the Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State.

According to a statement by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, the President mourned the victims and expressed his condolences to the families affected, as well as to the government and people of Niger State.

He emphasized the incident’s tragic and preventable nature, noting that many of its victims were allegedly those plucked from the overturned tanker by Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

Onanuga cited the President’s instructions to train security and road safety officials to prevent similar incidents and provide comprehensive medical care to the injured.

He continued, citing the high explosive nature of the highly explosive nature of Tinubu’s advice to all citizens to be cautious and to avoid approaching accident scenes, especially those involving fuel-laden vehicles.
