How to do eyebrow lamination at home for less is a well-known salon beauty treatment that lifts and sets eyebrow hairs higher for a more broad-awake appearance.

Brow lamination, a salon treatment that applies a perm-like technique to lift, define, and set brow hairs into your desired shape, giving a more groomed effect, has been popular for a while. Professional treatments typically last for between four and six weeks and cost between £30-£60, but we’ve tested out a new DIY kit that has the same results for less money.

The Brow Wow Lamination Kit from Mylee, a company renowned for its at-home gel manicure kits, is a new set that includes everything you need to quickly and simply laminate your own brows at home. For the price of one in a salon, you’d normally pay for three applications in this, which costs only £35. This implies that each use costs less than £12.

Our beauty editor Laura Mulley tested it out to see if it would set and shape her thick brows…

Taylor Swift’s “knotproof” engagement lipstick is a bold departure from her preferred shade.

This is the only celebrity perfume I’ve ever loved, and I’ve been so impressed by it.

I have thick, lifted brows and have never had my eyebrows laminated in a salon, but I love that on my own thick, curly hairs, so I was interested to see if this Mylee kit would help.

If you follow the instructions, which consist of several different solutions that must be applied in a certain order, you can easily do this: apply glue to clean your brows and brush up, then apply a lifting solution (wait 10 minutes), then a setting solution (wait another 10 minutes), and so on. You can quickly remove it all with a damp cotton pad (avoid soaking the area for 24 hours).

You don’t have to worry about leaving the solutions on for too long, unlike dyeing your brows at home, and it was really simple. A distinct perm-y smell is present, but it vanishes after 24 hours.

My brows definitely have thicker, tidier brows, and gaps that I normally have close to my nose have filled them. This lamination kit definitely helped “firm them up” and prevent sagging because my hairs are particularly thick and heavy. However, it didn’t firmly lock them in like my favorite extra-strong brow gel (REFY Brow Sculpt).

The real test would be the following morning, though. I wear a thick eye mask to bed every night, toss and turn frequently, and when I wake up in the morning, my eyebrows are all over the place, the hairs pointing in all directions. However, after laminating them, I discovered that they were remarkably well-tamed. A quick brush through and I’d be good to go.

Mylee advises using any dyeing after laminating, but I also use my go-to Eylure Dybrow to give them more definition.

Although this kit isn’t quite strong enough to cover my own coarse brows, I believe it would work really well for someone with “normal” or “fine brows.” A coworker who has used other home lamination kits praised Mylee’s one because it comes in single-use sachets rather than tubes (apparently air exposure causes them to function less effectively).
