In tonight’s tense finale, BBC viewers are still searching for out whether the faithful or the traitors will win a life-changing cash prize. What happened to Diane Carson from the second season of the psychological competition show, which is being hosted by Claudia Winkleman and has since lost fingerless gloves to fashion?

Fans of the show will recall that former teacher Diane, 63, was cast in series two alongside her son Ross Carson, and they didn’t tell anyone they were related. The Northern Irish actress was chosen as a faithful before being killed “in plain sight” by the traitors after taking a sip from a poisoned chalice. She is known for saying “absolutely” at any time in the Scottish castle where the show is filmed.

Bright and bubbly Diane has since appeared on Celebrity MasterChef, announced a shocking career move, and go through a Good Morning Britain grilling that made viewing awkward. However, she and her son Ross didn’t make the series finale. We examine some of Diane’s most notable moments and discover what the nation’s treasure is doing right now.

Diane, from Bangor, opened up about an exciting career shake-up when she was invited onto Good Morning Britain last August. Despite having no prior acting experience, she announced to hosts Charlotte Hawkins and Richard Madeley that she would be appearing on Mothers of the Brides for the first time.

She shared: “You know, I’m of an age, it’s been offered so I’m going to have a go and see. I’m not worried, I’m not nervous. I don’t think anybody should be nervous because if you think about it, if you don’t know one person out there, so what”?

Richard then started to really grill Diane on her acting move, saying: “And what about learning lines”? To which Diane insisted: “Well, apparently, that won’t be a problem”.

He continued: “It’s a complete, complete 90 degree turn in your life, ‘ to which Diane clapped back:” I know but honestly, I will keep saying it – we all just live once. “

Less than a month later, Diane’s season of Celebrity MasterChef dropped on screens. The experience from the television show led to her rekindling her passion for cooking.

Diane, who didn’t win the competition despite her best efforts, revealed her children persuaded her to take part in the series. She said:” It was mostly through persuasion, my kids thought it’d be great.

“They love watching Celebrity MasterChef. They anticipated it to be entertaining, and I suppose it would be a little difficult to see how I could rekindle my enthusiasm for it! For years, I’ve always had family and friends around and I’ve loved entertaining”.

Diane, who loves rosé, just confirmed she’s launching a podcast with drag queen Beary Poppins’ Spill The Fizz, a title that doesn’t seem to have any plans to leave the limelight.

She revealed the news to Heatworld at RuPaul’s Drag Con earlier this month, saying: “I met Beary Poppins when he was assigned to interview me on Zoom for Heat, and we got on like a house on fire. We had such a laugh at another face-to-face interview that we kept in contact”.

For their show, they share insight into their day-to-day lives and tell hilarious anecdotes. For their hour-long episodes, the duo also spoke with some very special celebrities.

We are only one month away from 2025, and we are eager to see what Diane has planned for it.
