A police dispatcher accidentally announced Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement to all of her colleagues – after a hot microphone error.
Julia Jordan was unaware she was still live when she said: “Taylor Swift is engaged” in the control centre. She had just read online about Swift and Kelce’s huge news and forgot her mic was on when she reacted with excitement yesterday.
However, her Lansing, Michigan coworkers were impressed by the brief relief, with one calling it the “best hot mic ever” You had an open mic there, the officer replied, “That’s great news about Taylor Swift,” and the officer deadpanted. Julia herself laughed as she said, “Dispatch. I understand everything. Yes . Aren’t you enthralled by Taylor Swift?
Julia responded to the error by saying, “We do a lot of dark things, so it’s kind of nice to be able to laugh a little.” She did, however, acknowledge that her coworkers have teased her.

One questioned Julia about the scanner mishap, saying, “Well, at least give us some more gossip.” As the hilarious exchange persisted, Julia continued, “It’s a big ring.” As the coworkers enjoyed a funny moment, another officer chimed in and called the error the “best hot mic ever.”
Julia believes she and her colleagues will now watch the wedding together, having gathered to enjoy Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials in 2018.
Swift and Kelce’s courtship has thrilled and fascinated millions around the world. They have got engaged just two years into their relationship but, after she said “yes”, Swift, 35, was “flying around… having so much fun,” her partner said. The couple confirmed their engagement in a joint Instagram post showing the Kansas City Chiefs tight end proposing. The announcement showed the pair embracing in a garden and read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Bookmakers are now betting on the celebrity couple’s wedding date and location. Swifties, the pop star’s massive and devoted fans, can even wager on the wedding cake’s flavor.
And while the majority of their fans read the Instagram post, others, like Julia’s coworkers, discovered something odd. H&R Block, a Kansas City-based tax preparer, sent out a light-hearted email to the employees, advising them to check their social media feeds and discuss potential wedding playlists.
