Swansea sign teenage Kilmarnock striker Wales

Swansea City AFC

Bobby Wales has signed a four-year deal with Swansea City after leaving Kilmarnock.

The 19-year-old was out of contract this summer, but Swansea have agreed to pay a player who has graduated from Kilmarnock’s academy.

This season, Wales has five goals for Kilmarnock in 33 games.

Bobby is a young player, but he has experience playing for Kilmarnock and Alloa in the senior division, which gives us more competition in the final third of the pitch, according to Swansea head coach Alan Sheehan.

Wales started Kilmarnock’s victory over Dundee last weekend, but the team’s 3-0 defeat to Motherwell came as an unused substitute.

When Killie take on Hearts in the Scottish Premiership on today, they will finish ninth overall in the country having escaped danger of relegation.

Wales made 24 third-tier Alloa appearances while on loan last year, scoring 12 goals.

Wales, a Scotland Under-19s international, has been touted for senior status after his breakout season at Kilmarnock.

Derek McInness, the manager of Kilmarnock, stated in March that Wales’ departure would be “devastated” and that he would be “devastated.” McInness is also expected to step down as Hearts manager this summer.

Bobby is a talented young player with plenty of senior football experience, according to Swansea director of football Richard Montague.

We think he has the potential to become a significant player for Swansea City, and his recent accolades demonstrate how highly regarded he is.

We’re very happy to have been able to make a decisive move to secure another acquisition well in advance of the new campaign and look forward to welcoming him to Swansea at the start of the pre-season.
