In the Ondo State community of Ajegunle Powerline, five farmers have reportedly been killed by armed men who are suspected of being herdsmen.
According to reports, the victims were farmland laborers from the Plateau and Kaduna states.
The herdsmen had engaged in destroying their crops and causing their livelihood in the community, according to an eyewitness account that the attack took place on Tuesday around 3:00 pm.
The source, who is also a farmer, claims that many farmers have fled their farms out of fear of being killed because of the frequent attacks.

He lamented that the lives of farmers are being endangered, many have been killed, with their women raped occasionally.
One of the labourers who survived the attack, and escaped, revealed that the herdsmen suddenly appeared, and started shooting sporadically, killing five people.
Ondo State Police Command’s CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, the public relations officer, confirmed the incident.
