Supreme Court Mourns Former Chief Justice Uwais

Hon., the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, has expressed its condolences to the family of. Muhammadu Lawal Uwais, a justice official, passed away on Friday.

From 1995 until his retirement in 2006, Uwais left behind a formidable legacy of judicial excellence and integrity.

In 1963, he was ordained to the Middle Temple Bar in London, and his devotion to justice and fairness quickly led to his recognition.

He held a number of powerful positions both within and outside the judiciary over the years.
