Josh Magennis has made a comeback for Northern Ireland’s 2026 World Cup qualifying games.
The 35-year-old has not played for Michael O’Neill’s squad since November 2024 despite having 82 caps for the country.
On Friday, October 10, Northern Ireland will host Slovakia in Windsor Park before welcoming Germany there three days later. O’Neill is also able to recover some injured players.
When they beat Luxembourg in their opening game of the campaign, the team lost to Germany last month, and they were without a lot of players.
Paul Smyth, Conor Hazard, Brodie Spencer, Ciaron Brown, and Dan Ballard have all returned from injury.
Ross McCausland, a Rangers winger currently on loan at Aris Limassol in Cyprus, will also make a comeback.

Northern Ireland’s qualifying campaign for the World Cup in Canada, the USA, and Mexico will wrap up with games against Slovakia on November 14 (November 1) and Luxembourg on November 17 in Belfast.
Only the table toppers’ teams are guaranteed a spot in the tournament, with the table runners-up also making the play-offs.
