Karen Hauer and Gorka Marquez, two accomplished dancers, canceled their performance just before the performance was scheduled to take place on stage, leaving the audience furious.
Strictly Come Dancing stars were forced to cancel their performance moment before they were due on stage. Professional dancers Karen Hauer and Gorka Marquez left fans gutted with the announcement.
They are currently on tour with their own show, yet had to issue a statement just before their performance on Thursday evening. Karen and Gorka revealed they had to make the tough decision to pull the plug on the show.
Due to safety concerns, they told supporters that they were “upset and disappointed” by the choice but that they had to make it. The pair expressed their shock at the curtain being pulled down on tonight’s show just before their performance at Cheltenham’s Town.
We have tried everything we can to get on stage tonight, despite technical issues that have plagued the venue all afternoon.
They continued, “Of course, our company’s safety comes first, and we cannot control this.” We’re looking forward to meeting you soon. The venue will contact the purchasers of tickets.
“We’re just as disappointed as you are.” K &, G”. Fans expressed disappointment and annoyance over the show’s abrupt cancellation.
One yelled, “GUTTED. Speakeasy has been canceled at the last minute when I went to the theater! My birthday was destroyed. Another continued, “Us too received the email while we were at the pizza restaurant.”
This is a shame, another person said. As part of their Speakeasy tour, Karen and Gorka will be performing on stage once more tonight at Ipswich’s Regent Theatre.
It is not the first time the pros have caused upset with fans, as Karen pulled out of the meet and greets earlier this month. Some fans who booked meet and greet tickets for the show were sent an email which stated that “due to scheduling difficulties”, Karen would no longer be able to appear at the meet and greets before the show.
One disgruntled fan sent an email about her meet-and-greet at the Bath venue, which read, “Gorka Marquez will be your host for this exclusive, up close and personal experience,” due to scheduling issues.
Fans will also be offered an “exclusive chance to make your Speakeasy experience something you will never forget” for £84.37 (£75.00 plus booking fees) in addition to a ticket for the show.
Some Strictly fans took to social media to express their disappointment, some even asking for a partial refund after attending the meet and greet anticipating seeing two Strictly Come Dancing experts.
Karen also missed the meet-and-greet in York, and earlier that day, she had shared photos of her sipping coffee at a cafe that served customers’ drinks in edible cups.
One of Karen’s coworkers also shared a video of her lying on one of the prop boxes backstage at the venue before everyone arrived, and both Karen and Gorka were outside enjoying their day in the summer sunshine.
A special West End gala performance at the renowned Adelphi Theatre in London will wrap up the program on April 15.
