Good Morning Britain presenter Ross King has revealed how he was stunned when he saw his Strictly Come Dancing contract before joining this year’s line-up.

Celebrities go through a lot of preparation before each series debuting in the weeks and days leading up to the launch of September, but Ross admitted he was shocked to find one particular detail in the schedule.

Discussing his forthcoming stint on this year’s series of the BBC programme, he unveiled a lesser-known clause in his agreement, revealing on the How To Be 60 with Kaye Adams podcast: “I mean, it’s really weird when they give you the contract and then it says minimum of four hours’ training, maximum of eight.”

Ross went on to explain how he has been working on improving his dance moves as part of his program, saying, “I’ve started training, you know, trying to get fitter, doing lots of walks, getting in the gym a little bit, and swimming a little bit.”

Nevertheless, while Ross highlighted one element of his Strictly contract, he isn’t the first Good Morning Britain star to test their dancing prowess on the BBC show.

Kate Garraway participated in 2007, Charlotte Hawkins a decade later, and Ranvir Singh reached the semi-final in 2020.

Ross will join a number of other celebrities tomorrow (Saturday, September) as the newest series of the dancing competition rolls off.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the line-up for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing includes Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Dani Dyer, Alex Kingston, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Balvinder Sopal, George Clarke, Karen Carney, La Voix, Vicky Pattison, Chris Robshaw, Ellie Goldstein, Thomas Skinner, Lewis Cope, Stefan Dennis, and Ross.
