It’s the time of year to get crafty ahead of Halloween and Stacey Solomon has shared a surprising way to create an amazing Hogwarts themed decoration for your home or for kids to play with

Autumn is here so it’s time to turn our homes into spooky sanctuaries ahead of Halloween. While supermarkets and homeware stores are filled with suitable decorations, the bill can quickly add up as you put more items into your basket. Instead, in a bid to save a bit of cash, it’s always fun to craft your own decorations – plus it’s a great activity for the whole family.

You can always count on mum-of-five and TV presenter Stacey Solomon to come up with unique craft ideas. The former X Factor star loves sharing her cleaning hacks, recipes and craft ideas on her Instagram page, where she boasts over six million followers.

The host of Sort Your Life Out left fans gobsmacked by how amazing her homemade Hogwarts Castle is. Stacey’s daughter Rose loves all things Harry Potter – and for her fourth birthday she wanted to create a spooky Hogwarts theme at home for her, including a Hogwarts Castle.

Stacey explained how she managed to find an old dolls house for free from a marketplace. She managed to change it from a simple, cream coloured house into an impressive castle using something you might have thrown in the bin.

To create the iconic Hogwarts castle turrets, Stacey used some rubbish items. She used two used, cylindrical snack boxes, as well as a number of cardboard cones, which can be create with toilet rolls. She glued these together before spray painted them white, as well as the doll house. Next she used a brown spray paint and sprayed it over the top of the house and the turrets. This created an old building look as well as a snow effect.

Next, she added some fake moss all over the house as well as some string lights inside to light it up.

Stacey said: “Trying to turn a free marketplace dolls house into Hogwarts for Rose’s birthday. I’ve finished the outside so me and rose can decorate the inside together.

“I want to make different iconic scenes from the films. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have six rooms to fill. Anyway, I’m so happy with it so far seeing as how it started. And I can’t wait to decorate the rest with my Rose.”

Stacey shared another post of the beautiful set up for Rose’s big day. The little girl dressed up like Harry, and mum Stacey created a spooky set up on her dining table, and got a Harry Potter themed cake.

Rose, who is the eldest of Stacey’s two daughters, was born on the same day as her. The pair also enjoyed a packed day out in London as they went to Hamley’s toy store, enjoyed some lunch, and stayed in a hotel for the night for their joint celebration.
