Stacey Dooley’s dark past from shoplifting stint to drug dealer ex-boyfriend

Stacey Dooley has been very open about her own life despite spending a lot of time looking into the lives of other people.
The TV presenter has gained notoriety from her investigative documentaries, but she has also shared some personal experiences, including being a rebellious teen.
Four women and four young women shared their challenging, complex stories about being raped by someone they know in the three-year trial run-up as her documentary Rape On Trial premiered tonight. Stacey speaks to the women in the shocking documentary about how difficult it can be to be convicted and how the system is failing women as she breaks down as she breaks down.
We get a glimpse of the presenter’s life behind the scenes as she discusses past struggles, including dating drug dealers and shoplifting as a teenager, before her documentary.

The 38-year-old Luton resident has been a nation’s hero since she was a teenager when she participated in the BBC documentary Blood, Sweat and T-shirts, along with other young fashion enthusiasts. She joined her own hard-hitting documentary series at the age of 20 and has since appeared in countless other shows.
After quitting her ex-boyfriend, personal trainer Sam Tucknott, who she had been dating for five years, she won the Glitterball trophy on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. Thereafter, she fell in love with partner Kevin Clifton. Although Stacey and Kevin currently reside in a stunning Edwardian home, they are soon moving to Bath with their two-year-old daughter Minnie.
She described the shocking reality of her day-to-day as a teenager in a previous interview, revealing how she was surrounded by drugs. When I was a child in Luton, drugs were always at my disposal. My pals produced a lot of equipment. She revealed that everyone was ingesting coke and pills.
“Boys would take pills during lunchtime at school.” People have taken heroin, I’ve seen. I went out with a boy who had a significant coke dealing background. One day, when I entered his room, I noticed that he had scales in his room. I have witnessed it all. The mother-of-one also revealed, horrifyingly, that she had lost a friend just before his 18th birthday.
Stacey recently appeared in a new documentary about the rise in retail theft as part of a BBC documentary about the rise in retail theft. She also revealed her former job. She said, “It would have been dishonest not to mention it.”
There is no reason for me to be out there acting that way, you know, because there is no need for me to sit here and try to justify it. She claimed she wasn’t “thinking about the girls on the shop floor” and that she wasn’t “thinking about anyone else but myself” when she stole eyeliner and mascara when she was 13 or 14 years old.
Tonight at 9 p.m., BBC Three will broadcast Stacey Dooley: Rape on Trial.
