Fans of Stacey Dooley’s “camp disco” Christmas tree, which former Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley claims to love it while others worry about her daughter’s safety, have divided her.
Stacey Dooley has left fans divided over her unusual disco themed Christmas tree, as some love it, and others fear it is unsafe for a house with toddlers in it.
The former Strictly Come Dancing winner shares her home with dancer Kevin Clifton and their two-year-old daughter Minnie. Stacey took to Instagram to share what their tree looks like this year. In the video, a tall tree, covered in silver tinsel, glitterballs and spikey silver stars, could be seen.
Stacey nodded to Strictly, where she met Kevin in 2018, and stated in the caption that the theme was “camp disco.” The pair had won the competition because they had worked together.

She wrote, “It’s giving.. Elstree,” in the post’s caption. Guys, did I ever mention that I completed this project exactly 100 years ago? Camp disco was the theme, and of course @marymaryflorals delivered it once more. Isn’t the energy of Angel Delight? Made up ! “Ta, girls!
Some fans were pleased with the tree as much as they did. One person wrote, “It’s giving 90s but extra.” in the comments. It’s so lovely. Another person said, “I’m here for it, babe, and it’s Diana Ross meets Wham on steroids.” A third added that the tree should be in Vogue.
Others were concerned about the tree’s safety, though. I was asked if there were any spikes in a house with toddlers; is it just me? “Defo wouldn’t have this in a house with kids.” Another question was raised: “Was that a weapon of mass destruction or a Christmas tree?” A third questioned whether the tree was a “fire hazard.”
More supporters expressed disapproval of the tree’s appearance. Sorry, but the tree is “horse,” one person said. It was an “acquired taste,” according to a second comment.
Stacey and Kevin will be celebrating Minnie’s third Christmas this year. Sadly, earlier this year, Stacey shared that she lost another baby, as she had suffered an ectopic pregnancy.
An episode of her television show Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over aired in September, in which the actress expresses her emotions about the experience. She shared what it was like to struggle to have children.
She continued, “We obviously wanted to expand our family, and last year I fell pregnant, and it didn’t go very well,” she said in a conversation with Barrie Drewitt-Barlow. It was “ectopic”. She continued, “I’m so sorry because this is so predictable. I’m crying on a bed while I’m sitting here. It was extremely challenging and ectopic.
