Red-shirt legend Mick Hucknall claimed to have slept with 3, 000 women and that he had “felt bad about my luck” in his prime during his heyday.
According to Mick Hucknall, he claims to have slept with 3, 000 women. In their prime in the 1990s, the Simply Red legend, 65, once said he had “three lovers a day.”
Throughout the course of his life, the Manchester-born legend has boasted a string of high-profile relationships, including the likes of Catherine Zeta-Jones, former EastEnders icon Martine McCutcheon and original supermodel, Helena Christensen. In 2010, he said, “Between 1985 and 1987, I would sleep with about three women a day.”
Mick has now acknowledged that he doesn’t understand how Gabriella Wesberry has remained by his side and that she has given him a sincere account of both his life and his lothario days. He has now finally addressed the claims about his wild days in a new interview, but he hasn’t confirmed or refuted the accuracy of the claims.
The singer remarked, “I was a kid in a sweet shop who couldn’t believe his luck.” He continued, “My poor wife. I’m not sure how she has kept sticking with me. After first meeting in the 1990s, Hucknall and Wesberry got married in 2010. However, Mick, who has completely dedicated his life to his family, hasn’t spoken to his daughter, 18-year-old Romy, about the rumors surrounding his previous sex life. He continued, “It’s far in the past,” before stating that despite not being religious, he takes his marriage vows seriously and has no plans to date anyone else.
He continued, adding that both his daughter and his wife are aware of this. After Mick’s mother, Maureen, abandoned him when he was just three years old, his father, Reg, who raised him as a single father, taught him to have strong family values.
Speaking previously to The Sun, Mick said in 2023: “I was just touring the world and being single, being a playboy, being a bachelor — I didn’t really know what I was doing,’ joking that he was “just having a good time.” He went on to say: “I think in your life it’s a good thing to have dimension, to have done lots of different things, to have lots of different experiences.”
