Two helicopters carrying five people collided in midair and crashed to the ground on Saturday in Finland, killing several people, according to police.
“The accident has left several people dead,” they said. The police said in a statement that the exact number of victims and the passengers’ identities are still being determined.
According to reports from the media, the helicopters had taken off from Estonia and carried two businesspeople in one direction.

Around noon, according to reports, they collided west of Helsinki. Officials failed to explain the cause of the collision.
Witnesses who were cited by Finnish newspaper Iltalehti, Antti Marjanen, claimed they witnessed one of the helicopters crashing into the other during a manoeuvre.
“One of them slammed like a stone, and the other took it more slowly.” Marjanen was quoted as saying, “I didn’t hear any sound.”
