In a tragic truck accident that took place early on Sunday at the Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State, at least seven people lost their lives, and sixteen others received various injuries.
Abdullahi Baba-Arah, the Niger State Emergency Management Agency’s (NSEMA) director general, made this known in a statement on Sunday.
He claimed that the ominous truck was delivering federally funded grains. 36 male passengers reportedly were also traveling from Lagos to Kano.
Around 3:00 a.m., the accident was caused by the terrible condition of some of the Lambata-Bida road, particularly those that are still undergoing reconstruction. It is thought that the accident was significantly caused by the poor road condition.

The rescue operations at the scene involved emergency responders who included NSEMA officials, nearby commuters, and local villagers. At the time of the report’s filing, Baba-Arah confirmed that seven people had died as a result.
11 of the survivors were seriously injured, and 5 were just minor ones. Some of the injured victims received medical care in Badeggi and Agaie, while others reportedly received medical assistance from fellow travelers. Shortly after the incident, their families also claimed the bodies of the majority of the deceased.
The Niger State Emergency Management Agency has urged motorists to use caution when traversing hazardous road sections, particularly at night, especially commercial transporters.
