Senator Sunday Marshal, a lawmaker for the Kaduna South Senatorial District, has condemned the recent abduction of 22 people by bandits in the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State’s Kugauta community and Kumana Chiefdom.
The lawmaker who expressed regret over the incident,  , said he would work with the Kaduna State Government and the Chief of Defence Staff’s office to set up a Forward Military Operation Base (FOB) in the troubled area.
Senator Marshal called the attack a heinous crime against innocent people in a statement.

“This heinous criminality against our innocent people,  , especially in communities of Kauru,  , Kachia, Zangon Kataf,  , Kaura and Sanga Local Government Areas in Kaduna State has brought immense pains,  , untold hardship and shaken the well-being of our people”, he said.
“Only recently,  , these bandits reportedly abducted 22 locals,  , mostly Women and Children,  , in separate attacks in the Kugauta community of Kusheka, Kumana Chiefdom and Kitanda community of Geshere,  , Kumana Chiefdom in Kauru Local Government Area.
“These renewed affronts on Southern Kaduna’s peace-loving populace are condemned in their entirety. These crimes against our people must stop right away and not continue unchecked.
“I am fully aware of the provisions of Section 14 (2) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution, which mandates that government’s main objectives should be the protection and welfare of the people.  , In this regard, I have since prioritised the safety and security of every citizen.
To combat the assailants, I am working with the Kaduna State Government and the Chief of Defence Staff to establish a Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Kauru Local Government and other communities. I’ll do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of our citizens.
