After Mel Owens, the show’s star, revealed his dating preferences, Chrishell Stause took to Instagram to express her thoughts on the upcoming season of The Golden Bachelor.

Chrishell had some reservations about The Golden Bachelor’s remarks about women over the age of 60.

Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause has hit back at the Golden Bachelor after he expressed a preference for women under 60 without ‘artificial hips.’ The 43 year old reality star didn’t hold back in expressing her thoughts on 66 year old Mel Owens’ criteria for his ideal woman.

“We love the Golden Bachelor because of how wholesome it is,” the Selling Sunset star penned in her Instagram Stories on Thursday, adding, “This type of energy will ruin it.”

The drama unfolded when Owens, a former NFL player, discussed the casting process for the women who would compete for his heart on the MGoBlue podcast released on June 4.

In a tale recounted on the episode, the ex-linebacker shared the story that ruffled Stause’s feathers. During a meeting with The Bachelor producers, Owens disclosed: “They ask me, ‘What’s your preference?’ So I just said [ages] 45 to 60, just being honest,” he admitted.

However, he resisted saying, “You know, I’m cutting them if they’re 60 or older, I’m cutting them,” while dining with the show’s executive producer.

You can’t use the word cut, Owens recalls being reminded of the title of the show, The Golden Bachelor.

He responded, “Well, that’s an NFL term, I go.” Then he described his additional expectations for the women. Try to avoid the artificial wigs and hips, you know what that’s all about, right?

Stause isn’t the only person who expresses her disapproval. Fans of the franchise have weighed in on his statements from a large number.

I won’t be watching or supporting his podcast interview. Stop supporting men who believe they are so great that they won’t date women their own age. One fan wrote, “This bloke needs to go back home.” Another remarked, “I’m done with this franchise if you move forward with him.” Respect women in particular.

This is so depressing, a third person said. I find it unbelievable that TPTB had the knowledge that this man didn’t want a golden lady in the first place. No wigs or women over the age of 60 is so misogynistic. Please replace him with someone who values women of a certain age, which is the entire purpose of this show.

Nicole Young, Chrishell’s cast mate, and she spilled a number of filming secrets to the Mirror, including her feud with Chrishell, are well-known for their roles in Netflix’s Selling Sunset.

Nicole, 39, first appeared on the reality series in 2022, joining in season six. Since then, fans have watched as she has sold some of the hottest properties in California. But it’s been her ongoing feud with fellow realtor Chrishell Stause that has had viewers invested.

Now, in an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Nicole has spilled the tea on what goes on behind the scenes and explained her view of what happened between her and her co-star. Nicole claimed the cast have “zero control” over what they film, or who they film with. She told us: “We have zero control over what we film, who we film with, or what topics of discussion are ‘needed’ by production for each filmed scene.

“Unfortunately, the public holds us accountable for what is and isn’t filmed or shown,” the public said, “but we have never had any control over that.”

She continued to make the claim that Chrishell, who plays a snarling wolf in real life, is “incredibly astute at manipulating people and portraying herself as a perpetual victim.”

The most recent conflict between her and I that occurs in season 9 is the result of me finally returning to her constant and unsubstantiated jabs and accusations while examining the deeply held real source of her issues.
