A judge announced in a court hearing on Thursday that music mogul Sean Combs will be tried for racketeering and sex trafficking on May 5, 2025.

After being charged with three criminal counts last month, the rapper allegedly abused women and coerced them into drug-fueled sex parties by using threats and violence, “Diddy” will continue to be incarcerated, according to federal judge Arun Subramanian.

Due to concerns about witness tampering, prosecutors have twice denied Combs bail. He has entered a not-guilty plea.

As he entered the courtroom, Combs, wearing a light-colored wrinkled shirt and pants, greeted his mother and children who were attending the hearing.

According to prosecutor Emily Johnson, there is still room for improvement, noting that 96 electronic devices were seized in March and that additional charges might be brought.

The Grammy winner has been the subject of numerous allegations since last year when singer Cassie, whose real name Casandra Ventura, claimed Combs coerced her into a 2018 rape and physical force over the course of more than a decade.

Since then, a slew of similarly obscene civil lawsuits have depicted Combs as a violent man who preyed on women with his celebrity status.

More than 100 people who claim Combs assaulted or abused them, some of whom were children, were planning additional legal action, according to lawyers in a bombastic announcement.

The rise in allegations against him has highlighted a culture in the music business that, according to many, allows for a more frequent pattern of sexual misconduct.
