Sam Thompson, a former Made in Chelsea star, opened up about his friendship with Pete Wicks, the former The Only Way Is Essex star, and gushed about the star’s support throughout the film’s “highs and lows.”

Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks have the kind of friendship that sells out stadiums, literally.

In September, the two performed a live podcast recording to a sold-out O2 audience. Ride or die is a key element in the pair’s appeal, which is a feature of their relationship. Sam’s “one constant” is the fact that Pete has always been there for him throughout “massive highs and massive lows.”

“We’ve both been through massive highs, massive lows and career changes. And personal life changes and stuff,” Sam told The Mirror. “Who you are as a person changes as you grow up. And the one constant that stays there every single time Is the fact that we’re best mates. And that we will always be there for each other.”

Sam and Pete met on Celebs Go Dating in 2018 and although neither found romance, both may have found the (platonic) love of their lives. “I don’t know if many friendships get the luxury of meeting someone who you know will be there at any stage of your life. And if I called Pete and said, ‘I’m in a really really bad way mentally’, he’d be at my front door within seconds.”

He added that Staying Relevant is probably the reason so many people enjoy their podcast so much. People enjoy observing best friends who actually enjoy spending time together, and Sam and Pete have succeeded in “building a community” as a result. Sam mentioned how many people had attended their O2 show by themselves, not knowing that they were members of their family.

They were aware that their neighbors and neighbors who lived nearby would literally welcome them with open arms. Talking about it on its own makes it very emotional. because our family and our community are so close-knit.

“It’s been one hell of a week, man, but it’s been the best week ever,” Sam continued. The former Made In Chelsea star has had quite a few moments in his life that were incredible. There was joining I’m A Celebrity, of which Sam said: “I would live in the jungle” and Soccer Aid, which Sam gushed: “If I could do one thing for the rest of my life, it would be that.”

But what kind of giving back is something he’s focusing on doing more of is. If I’m being honest, it’s about time I did a little bit more. “Sam said. Although I’ve lived a pretty easy life and feel like I haven’t done enough, I’m a little self-critical. I’ve taken a lot from this sector, but I’ve not given enough back. I believe it’s time to “pay the price up a little bit”

What would “that look like”? For kids with neurodiverse, I want to do something. I’d love to take on some sort of challenge in the area of ADHD and autism. Even though doing that London to Manchester run broke me, there is something about it that makes me think, “This is what I should be doing more of.”

Sam ran and cycled more than 260 miles earlier this year to raise money for Unicef by donating soccer match balls from London to Old Trafford in Manchester.

He’s already partnering with Captain Morgan and THINK to continue giving back! Captain of the Night’s anti-drinking campaign. By promoting alcohol-free alternatives, the campaign aims to prevent young drivers from driving while impaired. If the designated drivers of the night present their car keys and the Mixr app to participating Stonegate locations today (October 2) through November 2, they will receive a free Captain Morgan 0.0% and cola.

Sam expressed his “really happy” that Captain Morgan is working with him because “he loves the taste and secondly because it’s an important issue.” In the UK in 2023, over 4, 000 drink-drive collisions occurred, he said. 29% involved drivers aged 20-29. And that’s a damning stat, really. That is a very young age, really, really young.

Although I’m only a small voice, I think it’s really important to send a strong message to young drivers to choose alcohol-free options when they’re driving.

One in four men in their friendship group claim that drinking alcohol before driving is normal. This is insane. And third of ten people, I know, would drive and drink if they felt safe because it completely dulls your senses and made you a completely different person.

He added that driving and drinking when he was young was taboo, and that he worries that being young makes you more prone to show off. However, this poses a security risk for everyone. Even a small amount of alcohol before driving can have an impact on your driving, meaning you could lose your license or suffer harm from yourself or someone else.

Regardless of the reason, many of us have experienced pressure to drink. However, as this campaign highlights, you can still enjoy yourself if and when you don’t consume alcohol. Making the right choice for you and those around you is always important, especially when it comes to safety.

The Captain of the Night campaign runs from October 2 through November 2. When you present your car keys, the Mixr app, the bar, and the QR code, you can get a free Captain Morgan 0.0% and cola at one of the nation’s over 575 participating Stonegate pubs.
