In the face of the numerous challenges that Nigeria faces, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has once more asked Nigerians to pray for their leaders.
Shortly after the Eid prayer, the Sultan made the call during his Sallah message.
He argued that the country’s leaders should work together to overcome the difficulties facing the nation.
He believes that praying for their success, being law-abiding, and promoting unity are the best ways to support leaders.
He urged people to embrace agriculture for economic self-reliance as he called on security organizations to intensify their efforts to combat insecurity.

He claimed that despite the security agencies’ best efforts to restore normalcy and foster peace, there are still some communities there that are roiling under the siege of insecurity.

He advised people to invest in agriculture during the wet season to ensure the country’s food security and prosperity.
The Sultan expressed condolences to the victims of the tragic flood disaster that claimed the lives of numerous people in Mokwa, Niger State.
He pleaded with survivors for their support and prayed that similar events wouldn’t happen again.
The South’s trade partners and North African food growers meet at Mokwa for a significant number of meetings and transits.
East of Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, is about 350 kilometers (217 miles) by road.
When the Mokwa Bridge was completely submerged by the devastating flood, many trucks carrying farm produce and rams were trapped.
Some sellers attributed the recent price increase in rams to the federal government’s claim that heavy rain was caused by extreme weather, climate change, unregulated buildings, construction activities, and poor drainage infrastructure.
In the wake of flash floods that have affected the town in recent days, more than 200 bodies have been recovered from the location.
