Fans of a particular video game franchise are left persuaded that Samantha Carpenter has a hidden message in her hit song Espresso that only fans will be able to understand.
Fans of Sabrina Carpenter are all speculating about a new theory that the singer’s smash hit Espresso contains a legendary video game that only the most experienced gamers could discover. The 2024 anthem, which earned her two Grammys for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Remixed Recording, has received rave reviews for Sabrina. It helped her debut at the top of the Billboard Global 200 chart and earned her two Grammys.
TikTok users are now questioning whether the award-winning song contains an Easter egg. A well-known gaming YouTuber named Austin John, a woman by the name of Nicolette, makes the suggestion that there is a line from The Legend of Zelda subtly woven into Espresso’s opening.
The video titled “Sabrina Carpenter is a Zelda fan” makes a stirring revelation, right? features Austin combining the iconic melody from Zelda’s Lullaby from the timeless series Ocarina of Time, which was first released for Nintendo’s N64 in 1998.
He said, “Zelda’s Lullaby is in Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso,” by syncing the two melodies.
He made a joker-like comment that “Sabrina Carpenter undoubtedly played Breath of the Wild.”
After noticing striking similarities between two songs, fans were left scratching their heads. Fans saw Sabrina Carpenter’s potential as a front-runner for the anticipated live-action film adaptation of the gaming series after learning that her love for the classic video game Legend of Zelda had sparked theories.
Many people speculated as to why Sabrina might land the role of Princess Zelda in the upcoming 2027 film adaptation due to her adoration for the game.
One user emailed me with casting suggestions: “Then make Sabrina Carpenter play Princess Zelda.” Who says “no” when she has acting prowess?
Another remarked, “I knew there was a reason I loved the song!” ‘Subliminal’ [messaging]
How do people seem to be noticing this when they’re not using it? After listening to Espresso for the first time, I recognized it.
Some fans, however, weren’t as enthusiastic as they did, making the claim that it might be a little ambitious to base the Lullaby game from Zelda’s debut in Espresso on a few similarly themed opening notes.
However, this is not Sabrina’s first appearance in the gaming industry. Switch it up like Nintendo, a clever lyric from Espresso’s chorus, makes an obvious nod to the well-known Nintendo Switch console.
