Jon Lee, the star of S Club 7 and Celebs Go Dating, emotionally confessed his concern for his life after “flying off the rails” during his struggle with drug addiction.
Jon Lee says he worried for his life at the height of his addiction to drugs, recalling how he “flew off the rails” following the heartbreaking death of his father, Terry, who passed away from motor neurone disease.
In an exclusive interview with Mirror, Jon recalled the dark hole Jon he fell into in the years that followed his father’s death. “I went completely off the rails. I went out, I was taking loads of drugs. It got to the point where I had to make a decision – sort myself out, or it wasn’t going to end well,” he said.
Earlier this year, the S Club 7 star opened up about his addiction to Crystal Meth for the first time, something he battled in his thirties. Jon spoke openly about the tough time during his recent stint on Celebs Go Dating, which he says wasn’t easy to relive.

My mother watched me talk about that, and it was very emotional. But I frequently talk to her about past events, and they always end up saying, “I’m very proud of who I am today,” he said.
“I went through a very, very difficult experience, and sadly, not many people recover from their mistakes.” I’ve returned, and not just for the better, but also more confident. She’s simply content that her boyfriend is back.
Although it was heartfelt to watch myself discuss everything, it was important for me to share. The show, “added Jon,” requires that you do something properly if you want to do it.
Alongside getting in touch with his more vulnerable side on the show, Jon also met boyfriend Jordan Fairhurst, whom he is still smitten with since wrapping up filming.
To be honest, I went on the show just to laugh. I envisioned going out there and setting up a few dates, but I had no real desire to meet anyone. So Jordan’s introduction was a pleasant surprise, he said of the relationship.
Hairdresser Jordan, 40, claims that the couple had their own moments that weren’t always captured on camera while the romance unfolded on screen.
He reveals that during filming, we would go on a date for the show, but we would stay that night with Jon, and we would have our own date the following day without the cameras.
You may think it’s just you two on these romantic Celebs Go Dating dates, but the reality is that about 15 crew members are listening to each word you say, so you can’t help but feel safe knowing that you’re not alone!
