As Moscow continues its near-daily squabbling of Ukraine’s railway infrastructure, a Russian strike has hit a passenger train in the northern Sumy region, resulting in injuries for the passengers.
A train headed to Kyiv was hit, according to regional governor Oleh Hryhorov, who claimed on Saturday that the Russian attack had targeted a railroad station in the Shostka community.

Sumy Artem Kobzar’s acting mayor wrote: “There are injured passengers. At the scene, there are emergency personnel, including firefighters, nurses, and ambulances.
Hryhorov posted a photo of a burning passenger carriage at the scene with no information on how many people died.
Russia launched its biggest overnight airstrikes on several regions of Ukraine, particularly critical infrastructure for power grids and gas sites, raising questions about the nation’s energy supplies as winter approaches for the fourth year of the conflict.
According to a statement from the nation’s Ministry of Energy, the attack involved missiles and drones, and rescuers and energy workers were working to end the damage and bring the situation to a standstill as soon as possible.
